Alpha Hydroxy Acids: AHA gently remove dead skin and provide an added
antioxidant. In our formula we use the gentle and natural form of AHA that
occur in natural fruit extracts. AHA is a group of acids, often found in
fruit, sour milk, sugar and other processed through bio-fermentation which,
when applied to the skin, are believed to dissolve the glue-like lipids
holding skin cells together in the stratum corneum; when their adhesive is
dissolved, surface skin cells fall away, revealing younger-looking, fresher
cells. AHA may help with fine lines, irregular pigmentation and age spots,
and may help decrease enlarged pores. Side effects of AHA include mild
irritation and sun sensitivity.
Alpha Lipoic Acid: ALA is the most powerful of antioxidants. It is
able to benefit both the water and lipid portions of the skin. It is said to
give the skin a youthful and glowing appearance. ALA penetrates down to the
fatty layer within 30 minutes (Journal by Nicholas V. Perricone, MD, Skin
and Aging, Published in May 1998). The conclusion of that journal by Dr.
Perricone, was that ALA is going to be an extremely important substance for
topical use in preventing free radical damage. ALA has huge potential as a
cosmetic agent for temporary diminishment of fine line and wrinkles.
Anti-oxidant: A substance which inhibits or prevents damage from free
radicals.
Beta Carotene: Beta Carotene also known as Pro-Vitamin A is
found in plants and many animal tissues. It is a precursor to Vitamin A.
Coenzyme Q10: CoQ10 also known as ubiquinone, is a
vitamin-like substance acting similar to Vitamin E. However, research shows
it is a more powerful antioxidant. CoQ10 is critical to the production of
energy in every cell of the body. It is a enzyme activator. It aids in
circulation, stimulates the immune system, increases tissue oxygenation, and
has vital anti-aging effects. Coenzyme Q10 has exceptional antioxidant
properties. Studies show that it can effectively counteract free radical
damage and provide significant protection against UVA-induced depletion of
cell membrane. In other words, it will prevent damage to collagen and
elastin production process and help you avoid wrinkles.
